Sheffield Rape And Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) supports clients who have reported or are considering reporting their abuse to the police. SRASAC call this ‘Pre-Trial Counselling’ or 'Pre-Trial Therapy' and we deliver this in line with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) latest guidance (2022)

If you are seeking Pre-trial Counselling support, or if you decide to report the abuse at some point in the future, it is important you are aware of and understand the implications of having pre-trial counselling. It’s important that you understand the limits that there are around confidentiality and the procedures that SRASAC may have to follow regarding the police and the investigation.

It is YOUR choice whether to have pre–trial counselling. It is important, if you do decide to seek counselling at SRASAC, that the Police are informed that counselling is being considered, is being undertaken or has been undertaken in the past.
